The first ever Postcrossing!

5 01 2010

Yesterday while scouting around the Postcrossing website, I happened to find what turned out to be the first ever postcard sent through the project! PT-1 was sent in July 2005 by Paulo to Ana and took two days. I love seeing the beginning of the very beautiful life of Postcrossing!

This is the journey it took – the first of more than 3 MILLION!

actually, it was hand delivered (no stamps involved) and it took like 2 seconds!

but we’ve had map issues in the beginning and the locations of the first sent cards are not correct (only in case you moved to somewhere else meanwhile, which was our case).

Cool!!! Thanks for sharing that postcard! Like someone said in the comments, I think it would be really interesting to know why Paulo selected that particular postcard.

That’s amazing! If I happened to be paired up with someone close to me I think I would attempt a hand delivery too 😀 Apparently the internal mail in the city I’ve just moved to is quite slow anyway.

Roll on 5 million 🙂
