My name is Jenny and I recently fell in love with Postcrossing! I’m from the UK, hence my user name: Britgirl. I am 23 24 and my other interests include music and journalism. Previously I wrote a celebrity gossip website.
I created this blog to sit alongside my official Postcrossing profile, to record my musings on the project, as well as the cards I send and receive.
What is “postcrossing”?
Hi David! Probably best if you check out the Postcrossing.com site which explains everything – sending and receiving postcards in the spirit of international friendship is about the gist of it. It really is a great hobby, especially if you are interested in foreign culture!

Hi Jenny/Britgirl,
I’d never heard of postcrossing so thanks for sharing.
Betsy (an Americangirl who used to live in Britain and blogged about postcards from Iowa today)
Hi Betsy, thanks for dropping by! Postcrossing is so great, I’m so glad I found it! It’s really exciting when you get your first card 🙂 Oh you used to live in Britain?? That’s great!
Next time you should leave your blog address so I can see 🙂

Hello Jenny,
I just got a wonderful letter from you, thanks a million. You included a fresh postcard from the New Forest. I will share it with my best mate here in Seattle for half my life, he spent his 1st 22 years in Birmingham. Your handwriting is very intersting…all the long dangling letters..at a distance it looks like a jungle, it is easy to read & makes you more distinctive. I have been on islands in 50 countries so far, with Indonesia coming next in March. I have been a indoor postal clerk since 1978; I love to guess postcards with the name covered up. Since you did not put your return address on the letter you sent, I am guessing you do not want mail from me. It is quite cold here this week in Seattle. Tonight I ate left over Chinese chicken & rice. I will go to my yoga class tomorrow night, then rush home to see my new favorite TV show: Glee—-about high school seniors in a glee club > very clever characters.
Cheers,
Kenn Arning
Hi Kenn, that’s great! I’m glad you received it and like it. I live just on the edge of the New Forest – it really is lovely with all the free-roaming ponies. It’s always nice to escape there for a few hours. My handwriting has been known to overwhelm people! My mum says I should tone it down but it’s difficult to. It’s great your best mate comes from Birmingham! I do hope he kept his Brummy accent! I heard about Glee, I’ll have to see it for myself. Indonesia – wow! That will be amazing! I wish you all the best.
